Can I attend my child's lesson?

Yes. In fact, lessons with younger students may require parental attendance with their child. For adolescent students, is is highly recommended that a parent attend regularly.

Can I take lessons every other week?

The schedule is designed for lessons to meet once each week. Past experience with lessons scheduled every other week is that scheduling errors occur. When this happens, nobody is happy.

How long will it take me to learn to play?

This varies from student to student and really depends on the individual and how much practicing is being done. Playing is a skill and it does take practice to improve. Some student will be playing after the first month, whereas some  will require a little longer. Most students take lessons for at least one year, while many choose to study their instrument for many years, and some never stop.
 

Is half an hour long enough for a lesson?

Yes. In a half hour they will get enough material to practice at home. Lesson times are used for review and learning new material. To master the skills necessary to play an instrument takes takes regular practice at home.
 

How much should I practice?

For best results play frequently and regularly for brief amounts of time, regular daily practice is most effective. It is best to schedule 15 minutes of practice time twice each day for young students and beginners. More experienced students may need more like 20 to 30 minuets twice each day.
